FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Gastonia, N.C. – December 2, 2011 – CaroMont Health will welcome its new leader and chief in January 2012.
Randall L. Kelley accepted the position as President and Chief Executive
Officer (CEO) last month. Mr. Kelley, 53, succeeds Valinda Rutledge, who
announced in May 2011 her plans to leave the Gastonia-based CaroMont Health
to serve as the Director of the Patient Care Models Group at the CMS Center
for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation.
“CaroMont Health has an amazing story to tell, and I am eager to
lead an organization whose focus is on high quality, low cost and patient-centered
care,” said Kelley. “CaroMont is today what every other organization
aspires to be.”
Mr. Kelley currently serves as Senior Vice President of Inova Health System
and CEO of Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, VA., a position he has
held since 2006. Prior to this role, he was president/CEO of Gateway Health
System/Triad Hospitals in Clarksville, TN, and also worked for Flower
Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio and Bixby Medical Center in Adrian, Michigan.
Kelley’s hospital career began as an intern at Henry Ford Hospital
in Detroit, Michigan. He has a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration.
Over his 32-year heath care career, Kelley led his organizations to increase
patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction and physician engagement.
