CaroMont Regional Medical Center Price Transparency
In August 2018, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”)
published a final rule designed to improve the public accessibility of
charge information. Effective January 1, 2019, hospitals are required
to make available a list of their current standard charges via the internet
in a machine-readable format and to update this information on an annual
basis. Unfortunately, this is not a helpful tool for patients to comparison
shop between hospitals or estimate what health care services are going to cost.
The information provided is a list of individual charges which will not
represent the total charges for any service. In most cases, charges do
not determine the amount that a patient will owe for their service. Amounts
owed by patients are determined by their health insurance benefit plan
or the discounted rate for the uninsured.
Please click here to see a list of individual charges. Note: when the document opens, please click on "download" to view the
entire list.
If you are a patient who wants to receive an estimate of the amount that
you will owe for a particular hospital service at CaroMont Regional Medical
Center, please contact the Access Management department at 704.834.4844
and they will assist you.
