For the health and safety of our patients, employees and community, CaroMont
Health is implementing visitor restrictions for all of its facilities.
The decision is made in accordance with the latest guidance from federal,
state and local health officials, and follows a collaborative effort among
CaroMont Health and six other regional health systems to restrict visitors
at all of their inpatient facilities.
CaroMont Regional Medical Center and the Birthplace
Visitors are screened at entrances and must meet these criteria:
- Over the age of 12; and
- An immediate family member, significant other, legal guardian or other
person(s) who may be considered family in the absence of immediate family; and
- NO signs of symptoms of respiratory illness
Courtland Terrace
Gaston Hospice’s Robin Johnson House
- Only immediate family members defined as first-degree relatives (spouse,
parents, children and legal guardians)
- No more than two visitors at a time
Gaston Hospice on Garrison Road
- No Visitors
- All meetings, appointments, support groups and education to be canceled
or held via telephone
Please remember, these restrictions were put in place to help prevent the
spread of illness, not to keep patients from exercising their right to
have visitors of their choosing.
This is a rapidly evolving situation and CaroMont Health will take additional
steps to help control the spread of the virus as necessary. If individuals
have traveled to areas that are affected by COVID-19 or have been exposed
to a person with the virus, they are encouraged to call their healthcare
provider before going to an office or clinic. Calling ahead will allow
healthcare providers to offer instructions and guidance for individuals
to receive care and minimize exposure to others.
