In partnership with the Town of Dallas and the Gaston Regional Chamber,
CaroMont Health hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning to celebrate
the grand opening of CaroMont Family Medicine and CaroMont Urgent Care
in Dallas. The 13,800-square-foot facility will offer a full range of
family medicine and primary care services, as well as Urgent Care, for
patients beginning Wednesday, December 19.
“Dallas has and will continue to be a very important part of our
care network” said Dr. Costa Andreou, Executive Vice President for
CaroMont Health. “We have an innovative practice model for this
community, including online urgent care reservations, tablet-assisted
check-in process and a no-wait facility design so our patients may enjoy
the compassion and convenience that sets CaroMont Health apart.”
Board-certified physician, Dr. Kenneth Burgess, will relocate his current
practice, Gaston Family Medicine, to the new facility in Dallas and will
be joined by Nurse Practitioner, Kera Selzer. Board- certified physician,
Dr. Joseph McShea, and Physician Assistant, Leah Doane will join CaroMont
Urgent Care offering extended hours care for patients in need of urgent
or after-hours care. The building includes 14 exam rooms; four procedure
rooms; on-site x-ray and laboratory services, including point of care
testing; and will soon offer online scheduling for urgent care visits.
“Primary care services play a vital role in the continuum of care,”
said Donnie Loftis, Chairman for the CaroMont Health Board of Directors.
“It is often the front-line for patient care and the first experience
many patients will have with our healthcare system. This project represents
not only the expansion of our clinical network of more than 50 convenient
locations, but more importantly, our investment in the citizens, community
leaders, business owners and patients who live and work in this community.”
Located at 600 West Trade Street in Dallas, the new office is positioned
just off Highway 321 in an area that has seen significant growth and development
in recent years. CaroMont Health worked closely with officials and leaders
in Dallas to ensure that the practice reflected the needs of the community.
“Dallas is a small town, but it is growing and this new medical facility
has been the talk of the town ever since you could see the footprint of
the building” said Rick Coleman, Mayor for the Town of Dallas. “It’s
a very attractive building, but more important than its beauty, it will
fulfill a need for the Dallas community. We’re thankful to CaroMont
Health for bringing this facility here.”
Chairman Loftis echoed the mutual commitment to citizens when he said,
“We are here to build trust with those who need us by offering physicians,
providers, nurses and clinicians of the highest talent and character,
as well as greater access to an advanced network of care.”
