Services
Our highly-skilled physicians and advanced care practitioners provide care
to the critically ill patients of CaroMont Regional Medical Center who
require intensive monitoring. The services provided will range depending
on each patient's unique situation:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Provides close monitoring and intensive medical care for adult patients
with or at risk for organ failure.
Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
Cares for patients who are experiencing severe to life-threatening heart
conditions – heart attack, heart failure or irregular heartbeat.
Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
Cares for unstable patients who have undergone a variety of general and
surgical procedures such as brain surgery, abdominal surgery and trauma.
Post Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
This unit is a medical-surgical ICU step-down unit which specializes in
the care of the acutely ill patients requiring continuous observations,
advanced nursing care, non-invasive ventilatory support and/or advanced
medical therapy.
Cardiovascular Recovery Unit (CRVU)
Provides critical observation for adult patients who have had a major
cardiac, thoracic or vascular surgical procedure.
These are the areas where the Critical Care Team will have the vast majority
of encounters; however, they will see patients in any area of the hospital
including:
- Medical Surgical
- Emergency Department
- Radiology
- Operating Room
- PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)
