Robin Johnson House
Imagine a place where highly skilled clinical care is administered around
the clock in a comfortable, home-like setting; where a patient can be
surrounded by the people they love. The Robin Johnson Inpatient Facility
is just such a place. The nineteen-bed facility located at 5005 Shepherd's
Way Drive in Dallas, NC, was built especially for Gaston Hospice patients.
Patients may be placed at Robin Johnson for short-term care as an alternative
to hospitalization when their pain or symptoms require greater medical
supervision than can be provided at home. Whether they are suffering from
intense pain, breathing difficulty, or some other issue like nausea/vomiting,
care planning begins immediately with a goal of resolving the issue effectively
so that families may get their loved one back home as soon as they are ready.
The Robin Johnson Inpatient Facility is designed to be a place of comfort
and peace with a professional clinical staff on duty 24 hours a day. Visitors
are welcome at all hours and accommodations are available for a family
member to spend the night in a patient's room if they desire.
The facility includes spacious patient rooms, each with private bath and
family sitting area, as well as a sleeper chair. A lovely dining area
provides a comfortable place for patients and their families to enjoy
a meal together. Food is prepared by staff in the central kitchen and
extra meals can be provided for visiting loved ones with some advance notice.
There are several areas where families can visit with each other or just
sit quietly and watch television or read. A children's play room offers
toys, coloring books, videos and other activities for visiting children.
A garden and walking trail invite patients and their families for a stroll outdoors.
