Aortic Surgery

Color Bar

All forms of aortic surgery are available to patients at Caromont. An aortic aneurysm occurs when the aorta enlarges increasing the risk of rupture. Surgery replaces a portion of the aorta, thus reducing the risk of rupture. An aortic dissection occurs when the layers that make up the wall of the aorta split. Surgery reconstitutes the proper anatomy and reduces the life threatening risks associated with this event.
