Fully understanding the importance of family, the neonatal intensive care unit encourages family involvement and support in their infant’s care. To ensure that parents are comfortable throughout their baby’s stay, the NICU features essential family spaces, such as a living room, dining room, laundry room, shower, lactation lounge and private patio. Our hope is that parents will feel at home as much as possible and therefore better cope with their infant’s condition.
The NICU offers advanced, high-risk care to premature and sick newborns 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Located adjacent to the Birthplace, our level III NICU has 16 private rooms, allowing parents to stay with their baby as much as they desire. At the NICU, we believe that the special-care infant is a unique individual with distinct needs. And we’re committed to delivering expert and tender care to support the physiologic, developmental, psychosocial and educational needs of infants and their families.
