An Evening of Dinner and Dancing Under the Stars
Gaston Hospice is pleased to announce they will hold their annual gala,
Night of a Thousand Stars, on Saturday, April 16 at the City of Mount
Holly Municipal Complex, located at 400 East Central Avenue in Mount Holly.
Guests will enjoy a night of dinner, dancing and good times with proceeds
supporting Gaston Hospice and the Robin Johnson House.
“For nearly 35 years, Gaston Hospice has provided exemplary end-of-life
care to patients and their families,” said Candi Lethcoe, Chairman,
Gaston Hospice Board of Directors. “This event is not only a way
to for guests to support Gaston Hospice, it is also a celebration of the
lives that have been touched by Gaston Hospice.”
Night of a Thousand Stars is the inspiration of longtime musician Ron Ownbey,
former Gastonia Mayor Jennie Stultz, and former Hospice Development Coordinator
Ann Davis. First developed as a way to thank Gaston Hospice for its services
to the community, the event ran strong from 1999 to 2002. After a 12-year
hiatus, the event was brought back last year with a sold out black-tie
gala and dance at Loray Mill. And this year, guests can expect the same
level of good times and great fun in a new location in Mount Holly. As
the name implies, the stars, along with dinner and dancing, are key components
of the event. Remembrance stars, which can be purchased in honor or memory
of a loved one, will be hung to decorate the event space.
“We are grateful to our community and supporters for making Night
of a Thousand Stars possible again this year,” said Richard Lahm,
Executive Director of Gaston Hospice. “An event like this helps
us raise awareness about the resources we provide patients and families,
while raising funds to support our mission, and also offers the opportunity
to celebrate those we have cared for along the way.”
The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with a reception at Discover YOU! Dinner
follows at 7:00 p.m. with a live auction featuring a Disney/Orlando resort
package, weekend getaway at Chetola Resort at Blowing Rock and much more.
The gala concludes with dancing and entertainment performed by Raynard
Gibson and Lauren Barnett of Duet Lane. Learn more about this soulful
