Adam Bolin Awarded Medical Explorer Advisor of the Year

Gastonia, NC – December 9, 2010 – CaroMont Health is proud to announce that Adam Bolin, Professional Recruiter in CaroMont’s Human Resources Department, received the Medical Explorer Advisor of the Year award. Bolin accepted the award at the Piedmont Council’s Exploring Program Banquet held on November 16 at Boger City United Methodist Church in Lincolnton, N.C.

The Exploring Division of the Piedmont Council, affiliated with Boy Scouts of America, educates high school students about possible future careers in various professional fields, including law enforcement, fire rescue and health care. The Medical Explorers Program, sponsored by CaroMont Health, provides educational information to more than 120 high school students on the many careers that fall under the scope of health care. Comprised of seven monthly sessions from October to April, the program hosts speakers from different departments at CaroMont, including Nursing, Cardiopulmonary, Rehabilitation and Imaging.

Bolin has served as the leader of Gaston County’s Medical Explorer Program for the last three years. He has not only made the program more interactive by incorporating field trips and tours at regional medical schools, but he has also steadied attendance throughout the entire program.

Richard Churn, Exploring Executive for the Piedmont Council, expressed Bolin’s integral role in the Medical Explorers Program. “Adam has really gone above and beyond with Gaston County’s Medical Explorers Program,” Churn said. “Thanks to Adam and CaroMont Health, our program has a great leader and a meeting place, both of which help to provide a consistent series that educates high school students on the many medical opportunities available to them.”
