CaroMont Hospitalist Program
The CaroMont Hospitalist Program works to provide care to patients during
their stay at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. Because our highly-skilled
hospitalists are based at the medical center, they are available to provide
timely care while maintaining communication with your primary and specialty
physicians. Being on-site also allows these physicians to order lab tests,
review results, consult with specialists and prescribe treatment —
all in the same day.
Additionally, hospitalists have more time to answer your family’s
questions because being at the hospital increases their availability to
talk with patients and their families. It also allows the hospitalists
to get to know the staff, which improves communication for all.
What is a Hospitalist?
A hospitalist is a physician who treats patients only during their stay
in a hospital. This allows the patient to receive medical care from a
physician who has vast experience in the needs of hospitalized patients.
There is consistent communication between the hospitalist and the primary
care physician to ensure all parties are updated about the patient’s
care, condition and progress.
