Our physicians, nurse practitioners, bedside registered nurses, therapists and associated staff provide patients specialize in the complex needs of seriously ill or injured patients. Working with primary care physicians and surgical specialists, the providers at CaroMont Critical Care Specialists deliver highly technical care and address the unique needs of our patients.

Care for critically ill patients may include the following conditions:

  • Heart attack or sudden loss of heart function
  • Sepsis (life-threatening infection)
  • Respiratory failure
  • Liver failure
  • Kidney failure
  • Stroke

Specialties & Procedures

4th Floor | Intermediate Medical Care Unit (IMCU) NEW                                                                        Specializes in the care of unstable patients requiring continuous observation, continuous oxygen and/or telemetry monitoring, non-invasive ventilation, or advanced pharmacological therapy.

5th Floor | Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) NEW                                                            Specializes in the care of unstable patients requiring continuous intense observation, advanced pharmacological therapy, mechanical ventilation or invasive monitoring.

6th Floor | Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) NEW                                                                Specializes in the surgical recovery of immediate post-operative cardiothoracic surgery patients, as well as the care of unstable cardiac patients requiring continuous intense observation, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, advanced pharmacological therapy and invasive therapy/monitoring.

These are the areas where the critical care team has the vast majority of encounters; however, we also see patients in any area of the hospital including:

  • Medical Surgical
  • Emergency department
  • Radiology
  • Operating room
  • PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)
