Cardiac Surgery Medical Director
I am a board-certified surgeon with more than 20 years of broad cardiothoracic experience. I have performed well over 4,000 heart and lung operations with excellent outcomes, as evaluated by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. As the Medical Director of Cardiac Surgery, my advanced experience includes complex coronary artery bypass surgery, aortic, mitral, and tricuspid valve surgery, minimally invasive surgery, off-pump bypass surgery, reoperations, mitral valve repair, TAVR and VATs lobectomy. I am a former Associate Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Vanderbilt University and Associate Clinical Professor at Columbia University in New York with 33 peer-reviewed articles and ten book chapters. I am also an experienced legal expert for the North Carolina Board of Medicine, private litigation.
